The Churchill Court Hotel has countless activities on its doorstep including the infamous Blenheim Palace, resting place of Sir Winston Churchill, only 1.5 miles away. Blenheim Palace opens its doors to many events throughout the year and so it's worth checking out their site to see if something takes your fancy.
If that isn't your thing there are plenty of other things to do and see in and around Oxfordshire. It's a 10 minute train ride away from Oxford City Centre which oozes in history and architecture. If eating and drinking is more your thing, or shopping, check out the newly renovated Westgate shopping centre, Witney or Bicester Village.
Some of the other gems that Oxfordshire has to offer include Burford and Minster Lovell.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Only 1.5 miles from the Hotel, is the rear entrance to Blenheim Palace; you can also visit Churchill’s grave just up the lane opposite. Visit the Blenheim Estate site to see a list of the many events held here throughout the year. Lunch at The Orangery is highly recommended. You can be assured of a great day out for all the family.

Oxford City Centre is only 10 minutes on the train or via park and ride. Bursting with history and architecture there are plenty of things to do and see including the many colleges. Oxford is the birthplace of Alice in Wonderland and the location to a few famous film and tv sites including Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. If museums are more your thing check out the Museum of Natural History, The Ashmolean or the Pitt Rivers. There are a variety of shows on at the Oxford Playhouse and New The Theatre that are worth getting tickets for.
If it's little ones you're trying to entertain the likes of the living museum that is Cogges Farm in Witney is ideal but equally Cotswold Wildlife Park is home to over 260 different species of animals and makes for a great day out. For the inevitable rainy days Crocodiles of the World is a 20 minute drive away and offers an indoor alternative.
EATING & DRINKING
Churchill Court is very close to some delicious eateries which is perfect for the foodies who stay with us.
Our closest pub is The George and Dragon about a 3 minute drive from The Churchill Court, offering traditional pub food with decent sized portions. For a perfect Sunday Lunch, The Hand & Shears is your destination.
A short drive into the centre of Witney and you'll be surrounded by choice whatever your fancy. From your bigger chains including Pizza Express, Bills and Cafe Rougè to your independent restaurants such as Suwanna, Huffkins and Chequer's Smoke House there is something for everyone.
SHOPPING SPOTS
The Churchill Court Hotel is situated in a prime location. a 3 minute walk to Hanborough station which provides routes to Oxford, Reading and London. Equally, Woodstock and Witney are 5 minute drives.
Woodstock offers quaint shops with traditional countryside attire. Witney has a variety of stores including Next, H&M and New Look and with free parking makes for a nice day out.
If it's designer you're after, Bicester village is the place for you. Only a 25 minute drive from Churchill Court and host to over 160 big name brands including Ralph Lauren, Gucci & Burberry.
The newly renovated Westgate Centre in Oxford has a wide variety of shops and the high street offers even more with some extra sightseeing spots.
