On foot to the Palace
It's a beautiful 30 minute Cotswolds walk from The Churchill Court through the Blenheim grounds and 45 minutes on to the Palace itself. The route crosses bridges, lakes and waterfalls before the Palace comes into view. Woodstock is walkable through the grounds.
Family Days Out at Blenheim Palace
Just minutes from our hotel, Blenheim Palace is a total family favorite with 2000 acres of parkland, miniature train rides, a butterfly house, the Marlborough Maze and famous film sets from Harry Potter and James Bond.
Younger guests can run wild at the giant Adventure Play zone, built for ages two to twelve with ziplines, slides, splash areas and hidden tunnels.
Events at the Palace
Blenheim runs a full calendar. Concerts on the lawn in summer, the horse trials, the food festival, super car events and the famous Christmas light trail through the gardens after dark. Rooms here go quickly around the bigger dates, so it is worth booking as soon as you know which weekend you want.

A base for the Palace
Parking is free and on site, which matters on event days when the village fills up. There are EV chargers in the car park. Hanborough station is a four minute walk and the train reaches central Oxford in eight minutes, so the Palace and the city both work from here without moving the car.
Breakfast is cooked to order and served before the gates open. Every room is different and our manager lives on site, so if you need an early start or a late one, just ask.
The Churchill connection
Winston Churchill is buried at St Martin's Church in Bladon. His state funeral was held at St Paul's Cathedral in London on 30 January 1965. His coffin travelled by train to Hanborough station, then by road to Bladon, for a private burial attended by family and close friends only.
